For customers

How does ClickMeats work?

ClickMeats is a marketplace for independent butcher shops. Pick a local butcher, browse their products, pay securely with your card, and collect your order at a time that suits you. Each shop sets its own prices, opening hours, and cut preferences — ClickMeats just makes ordering effortless.

How do I place an order?

Sign up with your email and phone number, choose a shop from the Shops page, add items to your basket, then pick a collection time and pay. You’ll receive an email confirmation immediately, and further emails when the shop starts preparing your order and when it’s ready to collect.

When will my order be ready?

Each shop sets its own prep time. When you place an order, we show you an estimated ready time based on that. You can also pick a specific collection slot from the collection-time dropdown — the shop will have your order ready by then.

Once the shop marks your order as “Ready for Collection” you’ll receive an email and can head to the shop to pick it up.

Do I have to wait in a queue at the shop?

No — that’s the whole point of ordering ahead. The shop prepares your order during the collection window you selected, so it’s packed and ready before you arrive. Show them your order number (from your confirmation email), grab your bag, and you’re done — usually under a minute. No standing behind someone getting a Sunday joint cut from scratch.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Once you’ve paid, your order is with the shop. To cancel or change it, contact the shop directly — their phone number is on the shop’s page and in your confirmation email. Refunds after the shop has started preparing your order are at the shop’s discretion, though your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 always apply.

How do refunds work?

Refunds go back to your original card within 5–10 working days once the shop or ClickMeats issues them. You’ll receive a refund email confirming the amount. Full detail — including when refunds are automatic and when they may not be — is in our refund policy.

How do I complain if something goes wrong?

Speak to the shop first — their phone and address are on the shop page and in your order confirmation. If they can’t help, email support@clickmeats.co.uk. Our complaints procedure sets out response times and external routes (chargeback, Citizens Advice, ICO) if you’re still not happy.

How is my card protected?

We use Stripe for every payment. ClickMeats never sees or stores your card number — it goes directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection and Stripe handles the charge. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, the same standard used by major banks.

Do you charge me a fee?

No — customers pay exactly the price shown at checkout. Any platform fee is paid by the shop, not you.

Do you deliver?

Not yet. Every order is currently collection-only from the butcher’s shop. Home delivery is on our roadmap for after launch.

What if the shop is closed when I want to order?

You can still place an order — the collection-time dropdown will show slots from the next open day. Your card is charged straight away and the shop will prepare your order for the time you selected.

Are the meats halal, kosher, organic, or free-range?

Each shop describes its own products. If a specific certification (halal, kosher, organic, free-range, grass-fed, etc.) matters to you, we recommend contacting the shop directly to confirm before ordering. ClickMeats doesn’t independently audit or certify claims made by shops.

How do I contact a shop?

Every shop’s detail page shows their address, opening hours, and phone number. For order-specific questions after paying, the shop can reach you on the phone number you provided at checkout.

What happens if my card is declined?

The order won’t be placed and no money will be taken. You can try again with a different card, or contact your bank if the decline was unexpected. Common reasons: insufficient balance, card blocked for online purchases, or your bank flagging the payment as suspicious (this is more common on a first purchase from a new merchant).

How do I list my shop on ClickMeats?

Head to our Sell on ClickMeats page to see what’s included and get in touch. We’ll help you onboard your shop — usually within 24 hours.

What does it cost?

There are two main plans: Standard is £15/month plus a 3% platform fee on each order, and Flexible is £0/month plus a 9% platform fee on each order. No long-term contract, no listing fee, cancel any time. Founding Partners (first 10 shops only) pay £15/month and get 0% platform fee for 24 months. See the Sell page for full details.

Are you looking for founding shops?

Yes. The first 10 shops to join get 0% platform fee for 24 months on the £15/month Founding Partner plan, plus direct support from the founder and priority feature requests. Get in touch via admin@clickmeats.co.uk.

When do I get paid?

Payouts go through Stripe on the schedule you choose during onboarding — typically daily rolling. Money from each customer order lands in your bank account minus Stripe’s payment processing fee and the ClickMeats platform fee.
